Working on
Auth & RBAC rewrite for the platform. N-level hierarchical account structure (Corp → Region → Site → Department), per-route permission middleware, dual-write to Auth0 and PostgreSQL with a Redis-backed cache for role-permission lookups.
Migrating the last two of fifteen microservices off MSSQL onto the shared data-access package. After this, every backend service in the monorepo speaks the same Postgres dialect.
Thinking about
How to make multi-tenant feature flag rollouts safer when the flag controls a piece of infrastructure (like the unified facility tree) rather than a UI surface. Per-tenant + per-environment + percentage rollout. The matrix gets ugly fast.
Reading
Designing Data-Intensive Applications (Kleppmann) — re-read, this time slower.
Various Cloudflare and Vercel post-mortems, mostly for the parts about how their teams scope incident scope vs. blast radius.
Open to
Senior / Staff backend or platform roles at multi-tenant SaaS companies, founding-engineer slots at well-capitalized startups, or applied-AI infrastructure work where the platform — not the model — is the product.
Bay Area hybrid or US remote. Not interested in pure AI research, EM track, sub-20-person on-site startups, or H1B-blocked listings.
